Configuring Widgets on iPhone & iPad

The latest release of Skylight (1.5) offers new Solar Widgets that can be displayed directly on your home screen on iPhone or iPad. If you have never used widgets before there are a few tricks to learn to setting them up. Requires iOS 14 or later.

  1. On your home screen touch and hold an empty part of the screen until the icons jiggle. You can touch any empty part of the screen, but not an app name or icon.

  2. Press the “+” in the upper left hand corner. This will only appear once you’ve done step 1.

  3. Now you can browse and select widgets. Scroll down to find Skylight. Tap Skylight, and you will be presented with a selection of widgets from the app. Note that some of the widgets may appear black due to an iOS bug.

  4. Tap “+ Add Widget” at the bottom to add it to your home screen.

5. Once the widget is added to your home screen, you can configure it by tapping the widget while the phone is in jiggle mode. This will rotate the widget around and show you options for it. If you notice a widget is black after you add it, simply give it some time to update. The first update can take a moment.
