Behind the scenes
Magic Window Air is created by developer-photographer duo Josh Michaels and Hal Bergman. The team has been working together for almost ten years since the release of their first app “Magic Window” for iPad. Over this period the pair has released 20+ apps including five #1 hits and received countless acclaims for their work.
For the past six years the team has traveled to whatever location Apple featured on macOS to create wallpapers and videos. This year Apple’s selection of Catalina Island posed a particularly unique challenge for the team. The island is not only difficult to reach, but limited by countless restrictions that make filming extremely difficult. In order to achieve this years mission, we needed an airplane, a boat, a drone, and a lot of patience.
